The Bachelor of Arts in International Studies degree gives students the opportunity to attain intercultural understandings and develop conceptual knowledge of international issues. Foreign language study provides in-depth cultural insight and an enhanced ability to function at an international level. International Studies investigate the interplay of cultural, political and economic forces in the regional and global arena. A highly recommended international exchange semester provides first-hand international experience. The Bachelor of Management is designed for those who are making, or who plan to make, their careers in management in the business, public and non-governmental sectors. It is suitable both for those who have recently completed secondary studies and for those with some work experience. The course combines conceptual understanding and a practical orientation in Management, with majors in Government and Politics, and Management, Governance and Policy. Students who wish to take out a single degree in the BA International Studies only will be able to do so upon completion of the academic requirements for that degree. To ensure the single degree course can be completed in the minimum time of six semesters for a single degree, students must seek the advice of the course convener during the first year of their study.
Attainment of the published ATAR or its equivalent of either the Bachelor of Arts in International Studies or Bachelor of Management (whichever is higher).

Credit arrangements
There are currently no formal credit transfer arrangements for entry to this course. Any previous study or work experience will only be considered as part of the application process in accordance with current course rules and university policy.

- From Semester 1 2018 unit 5617 Accounting for Managers is no longer offered. Students complete unit 11009 Business Decision Making instead.
Note:
- From Semester 1 2018 students not completing the major in Marketing, Marketing Management or Business Administration, may choose to complete an Open Elective unit in lieu of 6357 Intro to Marketing.
- Commerce students seeking accreditation by professional Accounting bodies or the Financial Planning Assoc must pass Intro to Economics & (Accounting for Managers or Business Decision Making).
- 8172 Creativity & Critique and 8132 Influence, Belief & Argument may count in lieu of these units.

- Students may select no more than 9 credit points at Level 2 from the Restricted Choice units.
