Sustainability

The University of Canberra has strong values and commitments when it comes to protecting and preserving the environment. Since our sustainability journey started in 2010, UC has been working hard to strengthen our sustainability practices here on campus and ensure that the environment is considered and prioritised in everything we do.

The University of Canberra are currently working on a brand new sustainability strategy and policy for 2020-2023.

New Organic Bins at UC - 11/19

Brand new organic waste bins have been introduced around the UC Campus in collaboration with Goterra. Goterra is an ACT waste collection management service who specialise in organic waste. These bins can be found throughout the campus including in the refectory, cooper lodge, student central and many more.

Irrigation System Installed at UC Community Garden - 11/19

Head down to the community garden at UC to see the brand new irrigation system. Our sustainability team was granted by the ACT government funding to enhance our existing garden with a brand new irrigation system. This is a huge success for the sustainability team and the community garden. The Sustainability Club meets at the Community Garden every Wednesday at 5pm if you want to get involved!
