This unit introduces students to International Relations and its contemporary issues and problems. Along the way, we shall examine key concepts in the field, explore core theoretical approaches associated with the study and engage in debate about a range of important contemporary political and security issues such as the causes of war, nuclear proliferation, the environment, human security, humanitarian intervention and the activities of regional and international organisations such as ASEAN and the United Nations.
