University Elections – Notice of Ballot

University elections are being held in September 2025 to fill vacancies on the University Council and the Student Representative Council with all terms commencing 1 January 2026.

Nominations were open from 11 August to 29 August 2025. If more than one nomination was received for a position, an electronic ballot is held for that position.

Voting for the following positions opens Monday 15 September:

University Council

Two-year terms

• Professional staff member
• Academic staff member

Student Representative Council

One-year terms

• Faculty of Arts and Design student member
• Faculty of Business, Government and Law student member
• Faculty of Health student member
• Faculty of Science and Technology student member
• Ngunnawal Centre student member 
• Higher Degree by Research (HDR) student member
• International student member

Members of each electorate will receive an email with a link to vote.

Ballots will close at 5pm on Friday 26 September.

Election procedure

University elections are conducted in accordance with the University of Canberra (Election of Staff and Student Members to Academic Board and Council) Rules 2024 and the Student Representative Council Election Procedures.

Candidates will be notified directly of the election results. All results will then be declared on this webpage by Friday 10 October 2025.
