Build a future in forensic law enforcement
Develop an eye for forensic detail and lead crime investigations with UC’s Bachelor of Justice Studies/Bachelor of Forensic Studies double degree. We’ll give you real world opportunities to apply your scientific knowledge in the areas of crime investigation and the analytical preparation of evidence, and the legal know-how to cross examine expert witnesses and communicate confidently with judges and juries.
You’ll be able to demonstrate broad theoretical and technical knowledge in the application of science in legal matters, cross-examine witnesses and master forensic biology and chemistry. The course will build your understanding of the social and cultural dimensions of the justice system and prepare you to influence and protect your local community.

Credit arrangements
There are currently no formal credit transfer arrangements for entry to this course. Any previous study or work experience will only be considered as part of the application process in accordance with current course rules and university policy.
Bachelor of Justice Studies/Bachelor of Forensic Studies (SCNP01) | 96 credit points
- 21 credit points major is restricted to students enrolled in double degrees.
- From 2019, unit 8375 has replaced unit 10002 in this major. Students who are required to undertake 8375 elsewhere in their course should select an open elective unit instead.
- From Sem 2, 2024 unit 12105 Crime, Criminology and Criminal Justice replaces 11256 Criminal Justice
- From Sem 2, 2024 unit 12046 BGL Internship A replaces 11253 Law and Justice Internship
- From Sem 2, 2024 unit 12104 Social Justice replaces 11255 Civil Justice
- From 2022 unit 11266 Human Rights in Context has been replaced by the equivalent unit 11784 Human Right Law. Students who have passed 11266 cannot enrol in unit 11784.
