Placement requirements
All Early Childhood Education students must complete the Australian Government’s National Child Safety Training. This training is mandatory for anyone working or volunteering in an early childhood education and care service and includes placement students.
The free, short online program ensures you understand essential child safety, compliance, and regulatory responsibilities, and it is a critical requirement to help you prepare for professional practice before entering your placement.
The training is delivered through the Geccko (Get Early Childhood Compliance Knowledge Online) platform and consists of two modules. Once you have completed both modules, you will receive a completion certificate.
Students must upload this certificate to InPlace as evidence of compliance, as you will not be permitted to commence placement without it.
Please also take a printed copy of the certificate on your first day of each placement.
