Study Help resources

The UC Study Skills Team has a range of live services available through its Study Help Canvas site (login) has a range of online materials and discussion forums to support you, including:

  • Remote learning strategies and tips
  • Information about the Academic Integrity Module (AIM), Study Skills For Success course and the English for Uni course.
  • Student guides to using:
    • Virtual Room
    • Lecture recordings
    • Microsoft Teams
    • Zoom
  • Virtual Rooms available in the left hand menu for:
    • Help Hub is available Wednesdays from 1.30pm – 3.30pm as a one-stop-shop for all your questions.
    • ASK Advisors, where trained current students provide daily help with study tips, printing, borrowing, UCLearn, ePortfolio and more.
    • MASH (maths and stats help) for drop-in help with maths, stats and IT questions.
    • English Language Help
    • ePortfolio Help
    • Referencing Help

Peer Assisted Learning

Peer Assisted Learning Sessions (PALS) are group study sessions led by Peer Learning Advisors on weekdays for large-cohort core units.

Access via the Virtual Room in the PALS Student site (login). PALS starts in Week 2.

Ngunnawal Centre Tutoring Program

The Ngunnawal Centre Tutoring Program will be managed between the tutor and the student as to which communication support method works best for both the student and the tutor, e.g. telephone, video call or online facility.

Library services

Students are welcome to use the Library facilities while adhering to physical distancing requirements. Furniture and study spaces have been adjusted to assist students to maintain adequate physical distancing and hand sanitiser dispensers are available throughout the Library.

The Library is open for 24-hour access for students and staff on Level B via swipe card only. This does not include access to books on level B. The space will be supervised to ensure physical distancing is in place.

The Library has expanded the hours of the chat function on the Ask a Librarian page of the Library website to be available 9am - 6.30pm.

Contact Student Central

The Student Central team is fully equipped to assist and support students during this time and students are encouraged to make contact for any support needed. Students will be able to access Student Central via face-to-face consultation, email, phone or chat.
