About the course

Digital Interaction Design or simply Interaction design (also known as UI/UX) is the practice of designing interactive digital products, environments, systems, services and products for use by people. Interaction designers are problem solvers who specialise in finding novel ways to help people access and interact with technology seamlessly.

The focus of this intensive is to help participants gain a basic understanding of fundamental principles of digital interaction design practice.

You will:

  • Understand what is "digital interaction design' as a profession and skills and knowledge associated with it.
  • Learn the fundamentals of the user-centric design process and demonstrate them through hands-on digital interaction design projects.
  • Understand how to solve real-world problems with interactive technologies.

Course requirements

Open to all students in Years 10, 11 & 12.

Dr Gudur Raghavendra Reddy

Discipline Lead and Senior Lecturer in Interaction Design

Dr Gudur Raghavendra Reddy (Raghu), is a Design Lead for Interaction design at the School of Design and the Built Environment, University of Canberra. He has a PhD in Interaction Design from the Queensland University of Technology and, a Master of Design, Industrial design school, Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT). His area of research is on making contemporary technological products accessible for the elderly and people with diverse capabilities. He is specifically interested in design for ubiquitous computing and ambient technologies for ageing in place.
