If you already possess a health-related degree but now wish to move into a career in physiotherapy, then the UC Master of Physiotherapy course will help you transition into a new pathway fast - and with confidence. Your study of advanced functional human anatomy combined with training from expert clinicians means you will be able to diagnose and manage a wide range of human movement disorders. You will also develop cutting-edge skills in assessing and managing patients with a wide range of cardiorespiratory and neurological disorders, right across the lifespan. These skills will be patient-centred and evidence-based. You will also develop high-level communication skills throughout the degree, meaning you are ready for the challenges of working as a physiotherapist in a wide variety of clinical environments. This course has been specifically designed to help you not only graduate faster, but also enter the physiotherapy industry with a highly competitive edge. This 2-year, full time course will help you leverage your existing qualification and combine it with a comprehensive integrated learning schedule to ensure that you meet both the Physiotherapy Board of Australia requirements (practice thresholds), and your own career objectives in the most expedient way possible.
Professional accreditation
The course has been accredited by the Australian Physiotherapy Council. Graduates of the Master of Physiotherapy are eligible for registration as a Physiotherapist by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
For professional Physiotherapy registration with APHRA, IELTS is required for anyone who did not complete high school in Australia, England, Ireland, New Zealand, USA, Canada or South Africa, as opposed to the University requirements where IELTS is only required for those who have not studied in an English speaking country.
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
A) a completed bachelor degree in a health science discipline* with a credit or higher average, and
B) degree level studies in musculoskeletal anatomy, advanced functional anatomy, physiology of exercise and biomechanics.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to provide evidence that they meet the prerequisite degree level study requirements outlined above. You must upload a copy of the unit outlines/course syllabi of the relevant units only from your previous studies that show you meet these requirements with your application.

* Health science disciplines include exercise physiology, exercise science, exercise and sports science, medical science, biomedical science, health science, human movement, physiotherapy, physical therapy, applied science, human biology, medicine, rehabilitation science, human nutrition, occupational therapy.
Domestic applicants
Applications from domestic applicants will be accepted on a yearly basis from 1 August of the preceding year and close on 30 June of the commencing year. Applicants who are eligible for an offer will be placed on a waitlist and offers will be released in rounds on the first business day of each month commencing in November of the preceding year. Any applicant who is not successful in the round, will remain on a waitlist for further rounds while vacancies exist.
Domestic applicants who wish to be considered for a package with the Graduate Certificate in Human Movement Science (868AA) need to apply by 1 November.
Limited Commonwealth-supported places (CSPs) are available for this course and will be awarded on academic merit. To be considered for a CSP, please submit your application by 31 March 2026. Eligible applicants will be notified from 15 April 2026. The University will continue to issue fee-paying (FEE) offers until this date, offers for any eligible CSP applicants will be updated accordingly.
International applicants

Offers
Offers will clearly indicate a deadline by which applicants must accept. If the offer is not accepted by this date, it will be rescinded. Offers for this course cannot be deferred.
This course has limited places available. Not all applicants who meet the application deadline and requirements may be successful.
