This unit may be co-taught with the undergraduate unit 8975 Orthopaedic Physiotherapy.
Learning outcomes
After successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:1. Integrate and critically apply comprehensive knowledge of tissue injury and musculoskeletal trauma, including fracture classification systems, to inform safe and effective orthopaedic physiotherapy assessment and management;
2. Evaluate clinical scenarios in orthopaedic physiotherapy and apply evidence-based and culturally responsive principles to design patient-centred management plans;
3. Incorporate culturally responsive principles and an understanding of patient's lived experience, values, and identity to guide collaborative, person-centred decision making in orthopaedic physiotherapy care;
4. Analyse and interpret clinical documentation and medical terminology to deliver structured, context-appropriate clinical handovers, and clearly explain management pathways to diverse interprofessional and non-professional audiences; and
5. Analyse the roles and responsibilities of key interprofessional stakeholders when meeting complex patient care needs in orthopaedic care.
