About Office of Indigenous Leadership

The Office of Indigenous Leadership is focused on growing opportunities and impact for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through education, research and focused programs.

UC has a proud history of supporting and nurturing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and students, and currently has more than 300 Indigenous students enrolled across all levels of study.

The portfolio sits within the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, reflecting the importance that the University places upon developing meaningful and effective connections with Indigenous people and communities to effect positive change.

Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Leadership

Professor Maree Meredith was appointed as the inaugural Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Leadership in 2023 and provides Indigenous leadership for the University. She also leads the Office of Indigenous Leadership.
