Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is not available for this unit as you are required to demonstrate application of theory, knowledge, skills, and attributes from within your current degree and not from previous qualifications and/or work experience.
You are permitted to undertake an internship with your existing employer provided it is a specified project or a new role that demonstrates the application of your current degree and not part of a previous award and/or your pre-existing day-to-day work activities. Approval of the project or role will be required by the Internship Unit Convenor.
Students enrolled in a law degree must undertake an internship in an approved legal workplace.
If you have completed another internship as part of your current award, you will be required to demonstrate the difference between this internship and the previous internship.

Students are expected to conduct research to support their workplace experience and assessment. You will be expected to incorporate theory and content from your studies into the assessment items.

Students are expected to attend the Virtual Workshops (see the Timetable of Activities).
Required IT skills
This unit involves online meetings in real time using the Virtual Room on the UCLearn teaching site. The VirtualRoom allows students to communicate in real time with their lecturer and other students. To participate verbally, rather than just typing, students will need a microphone. For best audio quality we recommend a microphone and speaker headset. For more information and to test a computer, go to the Virtual Room on the UCLearn site and 'Join Course Room'. This will trigger a tutorial to help familiarise students with the functionality of the virtual room.
Work placement, internships or practicums
This unit involves work integrated learning: Internship. Students must adhere to University policy during activities, including the Student Conduct Rules 2018, the WIL Policy and WIL Procedure, and the Assessment Policy and Assessment Procedure.
Students must complete Pre-Place: Preparation for Work Integrated Learning before the commencement of their internship. Students can self-enrol in this module through the UC Learn site here: https://uclearn.canberra.edu.au/enroll/GBYNB8
