The Snow Scholarships offers more than financial support. It provides a place to call home, help when life gets challenging, and the chance to imagine a future that feels possible.
Snow Scholars will be part of an inclusive and diverse cohort – bringing together people from different backgrounds, experiences, ages, genders and academic journeys.
It’s about feeling like you belong. As a Snow Scholar, you’ll be part of a community – connecting with others who understand your journey, building friendships, and learning from mentors who are there to support you. Most importantly, it gives you the space to focus on your studies, grow your confidence, and shape the future you want – for yourself, your family, and your community.
Each Snow Scholarship is valued at up to $30,000 per year, providing residential, academic and wellbeing support to help you focus on your future:
Getting that support hits you on a personal level because you feel like not only someone is believing in you, but they're also giving you that support with everything they have. Having that support was also really valuable because for me it's also mental. If I see other people believe in me, it kind of gives me a push. I feel like that's everyone, really.

You'll receive on-campus accommodation at UC – giving you a safe and supportive space to live while you study.
While we encourage all scholars to live on campus to help build a close and connected cohort, we understand that may not suit everyone. If on-campus living isn’t the right fit for you – whether you’re a caregiver, have specific needs, or prefer a different arrangement – we can discuss this.
We’ll work with you to make sure you still receive the full support of the scholarship, whether that’s help with childcare or other tailored assistance. What matters most is staying connected with the cohort – because each scholar brings something valuable, and together you’ll lift and support one another.
Through the scholarship program, you’ll receive support to grow into something more. A confident leader, a bold thinker and someone ready to make a difference.
As a Snow Scholar, you’ll take part in a holistic development program that includes:
You're not expected to do it all on your own. As a Snow Scholar, you’ll have access to support you need to stay on track, like tutoring, help with academic placements and free medical, wellbeing and financial services.
This support is here to help you feel good, stay focused and make the most of your time at university – in your studies and beyond.
Located on campus, the Snow Centre is a dedicated space for Snow Scholars – a place to study, relax and feel at home.
With kitchen facilities, quiet study areas and meeting rooms, it’s designed to support you throughout your time at university. Whether you need a moment of calm or a space to connect with fellow scholars, the Centre is where it all comes together.
You will be part of the UC community, a place of true belonging and connection, including the Ngunnawal Centre, Queer Space, Inclusion and Welfare teams, just to name a few. We will work closely with the Ngunnawal Centre to ensure we best cater to the alignment of study needs, support and success of UC's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
Our friendly staff are committed to better university access, participation, and opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and those from a diverse background.
Applications are now open for students planning to begin their university journey in Semester 1, 2026. Submissions close 12 October 2025.
