Study Medical Science at UC

Whatever your medical career ambitions, UC’s Bachelor of Medical Science provides a supportive pathway that opens the door to unlimited opportunities.

A strong foundation

From your first semester, you’ll gain a strong foundation in the science behind medicine, human health and disease. You’ll study key areas such as chemistry and biology at the molecular, cellular, organ and whole-organism level, while building hands-on skills in our modern laboratories. With smaller class sizes and direct support from expert academics, you’ll also develop the professional skills and confidence to prepare you for the real world.

Two Specialist Majors

As you progress, you’ll explore contemporary issues in health and disease through research projects and work-integrated learning. Alongside the core science major, you’ll also complete two specialist majors in pathology and genetics, giving you the in-depth expertise to navigate the fast-paced and evolving medical science industry.

Admission for the Bachelor of Medical Science is based on an entrance rank. A rank can be achieved by the following means:​

  • Year 12 ATAR of 60 or above​
  • Other Australian Qualification​
  • Work experience​
  • Overseas qualification

Study your course with reduced fees.

A course with Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) means the Australian Government has subsidised a portion of your degree, reducing the total balance you are required to pay (known as the student contribution amount).

The CSP amount is determined by the course you are undertaking and the industry you'll be working in after graduation.

Some students (such as Australian citizens or holders of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa) may be eligible to apply to defer payment of their tuition fees via the Commonwealth Government's FEE-HELP and HECS-HELP schemes.
