Don't forget...
Along with your standard UAC application you'll need to fill in the supplementary form.
Applications open 2 May and close 24 July.
If you’re a current Year 12 student applying to UC for undergraduate study next year, you could receive an early admission offer under the August Early Offer Round using criteria other than your ATAR.
The round will open for supplementary form submissions on Monday 2 May and close to submissions on Sunday 24 July.
To be eligible for the August Early Offer Round, you must be a current Year 12 student enrolled in a school located in the ACT or NSW and intending to go to university. For example, if you are studying a tertiary package in the ACT, pursuing the HSC leading to an ATAR in NSW, or are undertaking the International Baccalaureate (IB), you can apply for admission to the University of Canberra in advance of receiving your ATAR results, which will instead be based on your Year 11 results and a personal statement.
When applying for the August Early Offer Round, your achieved results from the relevant Year 11 subjects will be assessed by UC. ‘Relevant subjects’ are ‘T’ or ‘H’ subjects in the ACT, specific HSC subjects that are used for the ATAR calculation[N1] in NSW, and subjects undertaken in Year 11 through the International Baccalaureate (IB) which are used to calculate your ATAR.
If your Year 11 results use a numerical scoring system, an overall percentage will be calculated by adding the numerical grades across all your relevant Year 11 subjects and then divided by the number of subjects completed. If your Year 11 results use the alphabetical grade system (e.g., A, B, C, D, E) a Grade Point Average will be calculated (Calculations for this can be found below).
An overall percentage of at least 60%* or a Grade Point Average of at least 3/5 in Year 11 is required to be considered for admission through the Special January Early Offer Round. You will also need to achieve an overall percentage or Grade Point Average in Year 11 that matches the selection rank of your preferred UC degree, as outlined in the table below.
UC Course Selection Rank |
Year 11 Overall Percentage Minimum |
Year 11 GPA 5 Scale |
Year 11 GPA 7 Scale |
---|---|---|---|
60-69 |
60% |
3/5 |

70-79 |
70% |
3.5/5 |
5/7 |
80+ |
80% |
4/5 |
6/7 |
We will also review your personal statement that outlines why you would like to receive an early offer.
*Number percentage results will be used to calculate the overall percentage. However, where letter results only are provided, each grade is assigned a score (A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1) and an overall percentage equivalent is created based on the total score divided by the number of subjects. For example, if you received grades of one A, three Bs and two Cs, your eligibility percentage would be calculated as:
1 A = (1x5) = 5
3 B = (3x4) = 12
2 C = (2x3) = 6
Total = 23/6 (number of subjects) = 3.8/5 = 76%
