Undergraduate entry through work experience
Turn your career into a bachelor's degree
Your career journey has value, and we value it at UC.
We recognise the practical skills you've built over time and can evaluate them for direct entry into an undergraduate degree, even if you haven’t received an ATAR or completed other formal study.
We can convert your experience into a Selection Rank, giving you a pathway to apply for one of our undergraduate degrees, if you:
- have completed at least one year of full-time, documented and paid work in Australia
- are applying as a domestic student
We use the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ Occupational Standard Classification for Australia (OSCA) job classification system to aid in our assessment.
You will be eligible for entry into most undergraduate degrees at UC if you’ve worked in a paid OSCA Skill Level 1-4 role for at least one year full-time, or equivalent, in Australia.
Our Admissions Team will assess your role and responsibilities to determine eligibility.
Gather your documents
You’ll need
- A current resume outlining your roles, responsibilities, and employment dates
- Employer statements confirming your role, duties and responsibilities, type of employment (full-time or part-time), duration of employment, and referee contact details (on company letterhead)
- Transcripts or certificates from any previous study, if you have any
- Any other documents that show your experience (memberships, etc.)
- Proof of your name change (if relevant)
Your work experience and study history may also allow you to apply directly to a postgraduate degree at UC, without completing a bachelor degree first.
