Course specific information
This degree is accredited by the Australian Institute of Building (AIB) and meets the qualification requirements to obtain a Class 'A' (unlimited) Builders Licence in the ACT. You will also have the option of potential double majors in accounting and sustainability and pathways into quantity surveying. An Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS) accreditation requires you to complete certain UC subjects and distance learning through the University of Newcastle.

Credit arrangements
There are currently no formal credit transfer arrangements for entry to this course. Any previous study or work experience will only be considered as part of the application process in accordance with current course rules and university policy.
Bachelor of Building and Construction Management (976AA) | 84 credit points
- Additional units in Quantity Survey are required to be studied instead of open elective units for students seeking AIQS accreditation.
- All students will be required to undertake 80 days of work experience in the building and construction industry. This will form part of the formal assessment of the degree.
- Industry Based Learning will be a co-operative education component directed by the University working in conjunction with industry.
- Students will undertake distance learning subjects as well as a dissertation over two semesters, which may be offered in trimester mode.
- Unit Levels: In choosing electives students should note that no more than 30 credit points at Level 1 is permitted for the entire course.
Note:- Must pass 18 credit points from anywhere in the University, as a major, a minor and/or as individual units.

Course duration
