During October the ANME was delighted to welcome a total of 180 pre-service Teacher Education students enrolled in the Unit, Foundations of Pedagogy at the University of Canberra.
They were organised into small groups scheduled continuously over a couple of days. Each group was given an introductory tour of the extensive collections and resources of the ANME.
The purpose of these visits was to introduce students to the study and relevance of the history of education to their preparation as teachers.
Thanks go to ANME Director, Dr Malcolm Beazley AM; Collections Manager, Coralie Amos OAM; and, UC Faculty of Education Lecturer, Stephanie Watts, for undertaking this important task of familiarising Teacher Education students with the history of Australian education.
