Biography

Julie has worked in a variety of clinical and non-clinical environments both as a registered nurse and midwife, including medical surgical wards, aged care settings, women’s health, antenatal and postnatal maternity care, primary health care, clinical education, advocacy for defence families and women’s and family health matters, policy review and development.  Julie is an experienced Non-executive Director, with current appointments to the Board of Directors of Capital Health Network and Karralika Programs.

Current research involvement:

  • Reviewer for the systematic review entitled “Understanding the needs and preferences for cancer care among Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People in Australia:  A systematic review” (in progress).
  • Reviewer for the systematic review: “Evaluate the literature examining the impact of health information systems in residential aged care homes for residents and staff and services” (in progress)
