Medical Radiation Science
Step-up to a rewarding career in the highly specialised and rapidly growing field of medical imaging.
As an important first step in diagnosing, treating and managing injuries and disease, you’ll learn how to produce medical images utilising the latest technology to assist medical practitioners in driving investigations to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals.
Upon graduation, you can explore career opportunities in general radiography, angiography, mammography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and medical ultrasound.
Benefit from the opportunity to practice your skills through the University of Canberra Hospital and simulated learning labs and develop the valuable skills to succeed.
You’ll graduate in-demand with the advanced technical skills required to operate high tech medical imaging equipment including X-ray, fluoroscopy and CT facilities and hands-on radiography experience through a range of placements across the public and private sector.
Our Medical Imaging programs are accredited by the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA). Graduates are eligible to apply for registration to practice in Australia as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
The Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound is accredited by the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).*
