Learning outcomesOn completion of this unit will, student will be able to:

Submission of assessment items
Extensions & Late submissions
To fulfil the learning outcomes of the unit a minimum of a Pass grade is required for all assessment items.
No extensions - all deadlines to be met. Deadlines are important to uphold in the industry and Graphic Designers must come to terms with them. If you miss a deadline due to illness or extenuating circumstances, please submit your work with a doctor's or counsellor's certificate valid for the period of time specified. All project extensions need to be discussed with your Unit Convener before the submission deadlines.
Late submissions will attract a penalty of 5% per day. Work submitted 5-7 days late will be assessed on a Pass/Fail basis. Work submitted 7+ days late will not be assessed and result in a Fail for the project and unit.
Students receiving a Fail result for a project may resubmit within one week for a Pass/Fail result.
Don't wait until after a project is due to ask for help. If you are having difficulties with a project, contact your tutor sooner rather than later.
Students have a responsibility to uphold University standards on ethical scholarship. Good scholarship involves building on the work of others and use of others' work must be acknowledged with proper attribution made. Cheating, plagiarism, and falsification of data are dishonest practices that contravene academic values. Refer to the University's Student Charter for more information.
To enhance understanding of academic integrity, all students are expected to complete the Academic Integrity Module (AIM) at least once during their course of study. You can access this module within UCLearn (Canvas) through the 'Academic Integrity and Avoiding Plagiarism' link in the Study Help site.
Use of Text-Matching Software
The University of Canberra uses text-matching software to help students and staff reduce plagiarism and improve understanding of academic integrity. The software matches submitted text in student assignments against material from various sources: the internet, published books and journals, and previously submitted student texts.
Required IT skills
Expertise with the Adobe Creative Suite is required, as is a working knowledge of print and web production.
Costs associated with printing and production of project work. Students should budget approximately $100 for printing of assessment materials, which are generally the responsibility of each individual student.
