Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:1. Apply and evaluate effective and safe assessment and measurement outcomes for the physiotherapy management of people with progressive and/or complex neurological conditions;
2. Interpret and analyse assessment and measurement findings to ensure effective and safe physiotherapy intervention planning for people with progressive and/or complex neurological conditions;
3. Apply and evaluate effective and safe physiotherapy intervention for people with progressive and/or complex neurological conditions;

Submission of assessment items
Special assessment requirements
The theory exam will be computer based. It will include both short and long answer questions, therefore, students will be required to type their answers. Students that are unable to type and complete the theory exam on a computer will need to provide the unit conveor with a written Reasonable Adjustment Plan (RAP) stating they require a hand written exam and ask that their RAP be enacted for this assessment piece.

Use of Text-Matching Software
The University of Canberra uses text-matching software to help students and staff reduce plagiarism and improve understanding of academic integrity. The software matches submitted text in student assignments against material from various sources: the internet, published books and journals, and previously submitted student texts.
Requirements to pass this unit
To pass this unit, students must demonstrate competence against every learning outcome (i.e. obtain a minimum of 50% aggregate score for all learning outcomes assessed across the semester). For example, for Learning Outcome 3 Critically evaluate and apply effective and safe physiotherapy intervention for people with progressive and/or complex neurological conditions: Students must obtain an aggregate of 50% for the intervention and safety sections of the theory exam, Prac exam, and the video assignment, to pass this learning outcome overall and therefore the unit
- If a student fails a learning outcome in one assessment item, but still scores >50% for this learning outcome, then this learning outcome has been passed.
- If a student passes a learning outcome in one assessment item, but scores <50% in the learning outcome overall (due to performance in another assessment item), then this student will not pass this learning outcome, and therefore will not pass the unit.
- If a student obtains a score for all assessment items that is >50% overall (e.g. pass, CR, DI, HD), but does not obtain an aggregate score of >50% for every learning outcome, then the student will fail the unit.

The use of online learning (CANVAS), library searching skills and word processing skills are necessary for this unit. Students are encouraged to have access to a mobile device during class to enable access to online material.
