Contemporary Occupational Therapy Practice (12262.1)

This unit provides students with the opportunity to explore and integrate ethical and legal requirements within the Australian context of occupational therapy practice. Students will critically examine the regulatory frameworks, professional standards, and ethical considerations that guide practice, ensuring compliance and promote ethical decision-making in various settings. Emphasis is placed on developing innovative responses to authentic practice needs, encouraging students to design creative, evidence-informed interventions that support occupational participation across diverse populations. Additionally, the unit addresses the importance of flexible communication, enabling students to adjust their communication strategies in response to contemporary governance factors, including policy changes, regulatory updates, and interprofessional collaboration.
