In this unit students will undertake professional social work experiences in a range of settings that may include health, aged care, community services, child and family welfare, mental health, community work, research, policy, and planning. In a supervised 500-hour (incudes compulsory 14 hours of integrated seminars) placement students will demonstrate professional skills, knowledge, and values in accordance with the Australian Association of Social Workers practice standards. This is the first of two placements in which students integrate their academic learning into an authentic professional context.
