Attendance and participation in the online activities and the Intensive Workshops are required in order to achieve the Learning Outcomes of this unit.
Students who attend campus for class or other purposes must play their part in keeping our campus and community safe by following these basic guidelines to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission:
- Practise good hand hygiene, washing hands regularly;
- If you do happen to cough or sneeze, please do so into the crook of your elbow, dispose of tissues immediately and wash hands immediately
- Practise effective physical distancing;
- Follow all directions of teaching and other UC staff regarding safety measures;
- Stay off campus if you are unwell and get tested according to ACT Government guidelines, and

Required IT skills
This unit involves online meetings in real time using the Virtual Room in your UCLearn teaching site, and/or Zoom. Both programs allow you to communicate in real time with your lecturer and other students. To participate verbally, rather than just typing, you will need a microphone. For best audio quality we recommend a microphone and speaker headset. For more information and to test your computer, go to the Virtual Room in your UCLearn site and 'Join Course Room'. This will trigger a tutorial to help familiarise you with the functionality of the virtual room.
Your projects will need to be designed around your available or attainable skills and software.
In-unit costs
Some costs may be incurred for for project materials or site visits, but projects should be designed within a reasonable budget for which the students will be responsible, unless otherwise agreed with sponsors, hosts etc.
Work placement, internships or practicums
This unit may involve workplace placements and therefore, additional student responsibilities may required in addition to those described in this section. Workplace learning requires strict adherence to professional practice principles and ethics. Client confidentiality must always be maintained including for assessment items such as reports or essays. The professional nature of this unit also requires 100% participation at all learning activities (lectures, practicals etc. if scheduled – see section 3) for the successful completion of this unit (also see section 6c). If attendance requirements cannot be satisfied (e.g. timetable clash), it is recommended that you meet with your Course Convener to schedule this unit for a future semester.
