The mid-semester and final exams for this unit will be online. It is the responsibility of the students to make sure they have access to a reliable internet connection and have access to Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Office during the exam time.

Submission of assessment items
Extensions & Late submissions
Assignment 1a must be submitted on canvas by the end of each tutorial to receive the weekly mark.
Hardcopies of assignments 1b & 1c to be dropped off at Dr Hamed Golizadeh's office on the day the submission is due. Penalties will relate to the date of receiving the hardcopy.
Important: If a student is unable to drop-off the assignment 1b and/or 1c, they should properly scan the assignment (low-quality scans or photos taken by smart-phones will not be graded) and submit it to the dropbox provided on the Canvas site.
The mid-semester test and Final exam to be submitted on canvas by end of test/exam.
Special assessment requirements
PLEASE NOTE: In order to pass this unit, a student has to submit all assessable items, sit the mid-semester test; and achieve an overall aggregate mark of at least 50% for the unit AS WELL AS at least 50% in the final exam

Learner engagement
This unit requires a good knowledge of basic mathematics. If you feel that you do not have adequate skills in this area seek assistance from the student centre.
Participation requirements
Please note, that this unit requires participation in the virtual /face-to-face classes.
This means that students who do not attend classes regularly will be at a disadvantage in terms of information, learning, feedback, and examination preparation.
