Use of Text-Matching Software
The University of Canberra uses text-matching software to help students and staff reduce plagiarism and improve understanding of academic integrity. The software matches submitted text in student assignments against material from various sources: the internet, published books and journals, and previously submitted student texts.
The unit will be delivered as a hybrid model with recorded online lectures and face to face live tutorials. Online participation via the Canvas virtual room will be facilitated for students unable to attend the tutorials (although attendance is strongly recommended). The unit delivery in the semester may be changed to comply with the latest COVID-19 guidelines issued by the ACT government, and as deemed necessary by the University of Canberra.
Inclusion and engagement
Students are encouraged to contact the unit convenor early and discuss support requirements that would facilitate unit learning and successful unit completion.
It is expected that students participate in all learning opportunities in this unit, and complete all activities within the learning modules, including directed and self-directed study,
and actively participate in scheduled face to face or online sessions via the Canvas Virtual Room. Participating in class discussions to clarify concepts and to develop confidence
with professional communication and verbally expressing ideas can be helpful for students and also supports the learning of student peers. Furthermore, participation in
classroom sessions enables students to ask questions and develop professional behaviours and accountability for safe practice.
The Global Experience has been organised to enhance student learning and international exposure. We require students to attend these sessions in Weeks 5, 6, 7 and 9 and to
interact with tglobal peers and academics to gain invaluable skills in cross-cultural global health. If this is a problem please discuss with the unit convenor
Required IT skills

You will require computer skills to access the internet and be able to upload to the ‘Canvas' university site submissions using ‘word'
and PowerPoint formats. This unit may involve online meetings in real-time using a virtual room. To participate verbally, rather than
just typing, you will need a microphone. For best audio quality we recommend a microphone and speaker headset. For more

This will be conducted online using zoom and freely available online tools to facilitate international collaboration. Please ensure you can access zoom and google these for weeks 5, 6, 7, 9
The Global Experience is a virtual international exchange funded through a TIGER grant. There is no cost to students.

Unless otherwise instructed (on Canvas or in writing), all written assessment pieces (formative and summative) must conform to the following requirements:
- Headings in bold, maximum font size 16 pt.
- Font size: 12 pt – Times New Roman
- Margins no less than 1.5cm on all sides.
- Page number at the bottom right-hand corner of footer.
- Student identification number (number only) at the top right-hand corner of the header.
- References are given in the APA/Vancouver style (chronological numeric) only.
