Make information and communications technology your business
Accredited by the Australian Computer Society, UC’s Bachelor of Business Informatics is an interdisciplinary degree providing a bridge between the areas of business and information technology. Learn to design or redesign systems to meet business requirements and support them, investigate information needs, integrate business systems, and manage service provision and outsourcing. This course has one of the best graduate outcomes out there and sees an exceptionally high demand for its sought-after graduates, especially given its location in Canberra and popularity with the government sector.
Your study will set you on the path to becoming an invaluable information and communications technology professional or, if postgraduate study is your preferred route, there’s direct progression from this course to the Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma in Business Informatics, and the Master of Business Informatics. Work Integrated Learning
Throughout the course you’ll have many opportunities to put your interdisciplinary knowledge and theories into practice thanks to a strong Work Integrated Learning (WIL) focus. You’ll regularly connect with the world of professional practice via guest lecturers, expert industry-based tutors and a focus on practical scenarios and case studies in your coursework.
You’ll undertake group project work developing real-world IT strategies for real clients, and will participate in a final year work placement. Previous Business Informatics students have undertaken internships and cadetships with organisations such as PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Fujitsu Australia, Birdsnest, the University of Canberra, and more.

- From 2019 the unit code for Information Law has changed to 11271 and for Sociology of Technology & Work to 11249.
- From Semester 1 2018 students should choose to complete an Open Elective unit in lieu of 9799 Foundations of Professional Planning.
- In choosing electives students should note that no more than 30 credit points at Level 1 is permitted for the entire course.
