27 November 2023: The University of Canberra officially welcomed its new and renewed Adjunct appointments at an end of year reception last week.

The event also celebrated the many contributions Adjuncts make to the University’s education and research programs and capability.

Hosted by Dean of the College of Adjuncts, Zoe Piper, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Enterprise Professor Lucy Johnston, the event offered opportunities to reflect on the year, network, and look ahead to 2024.

Adjuncts are honorary appointments, and they contribute to the University’s teaching, research and professional development activities and the wider University community.

“They bring extensive and varied industry experience that enriches our education offerings and research programs, and they are essential to bridging the worlds of academia and industry. This reception is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the year, connect with peers and reenergise for 2024.”

Ms Piper will step down from the role of Dean of the College at the end of the year.

“I’d like to thank Zoe for her leadership over the past year, which has challenged us to reflect and reinvigorate how we engage Adjuncts here at the University. We wish her the best of luck with her many ventures, which will definitely keep her busy!” Professor Johnston said.
