UC performs consistently in Times Higher Education Subject Rankings 2021

28 October 2020: The University of Canberra (UC) has performed well in the 2021 Times Higher Education’s (THE) annual World Subject Rankings released today.

Over 1,500 institutions are ranked in the 2021 Subject Rankings covering 11 subject areas.

In addition to the existing six subjects in which the University of Canberra has ranked previously, the University has two subject areas entering the rankings in 2021. UC has been ranked in the 301 – 400 top universities for Arts and Humanities and in the top 401 – 500 universities for Physical Sciences.

“The University of Canberra has performed consistently in the Times Higher Education Subject Rankings for the past two years, and we are very pleased to now have the University’s Arts and Humanities and Physical Sciences subjects being recognised in the top 500 offered by universities in the world,” said Professor Leigh Sullivan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Innovation at the University of Canberra.

The University of Canberra maintained its global university rankings in the following subject areas in 2021:

  • Ranked 101–125 in Clinical and Health (2020: 101 - 125).
  • Ranked 151–175 in Education (2020: 151 - 175).
  • Ranked 176–200 in Social Sciences (2020: 176 – 200).
  • Ranked 251–300 in Business and Economics (2020: 251 - 300).
  • Ranked 301–400 in Life Sciences (2020: 301 – 400).
  • Ranked 301–400 in Psychology (2020: 301 – 400).

“These Rankings are further evidence of the continued commitment, innovation and flexibility of our University staff both in delivering courses that meet our student’s needs and aspirations, as well in delivering innovative research solutions that meet the needs of our external stakeholders” said Professor Sullivan.
