About the LibraryThe Library is located in Building 8 in the centre of the campus, opposite the Students' Association. How can I contact the Library? Who can I ask for help? On campus you can talk to staff at the Information and Loans or Research Assistance Desks during normal Library hours. You can obtain general information about the Library's policies and procedures, and request help with reference queries by emailing Ask a Librarian. Details can be found at Research Skills training. How Do I ...?Get my password? Your UC password (and student ID) are available on enrolment. Your password is also available, on production of your ID card, from the Computer Centre Helpdesk or the Library Information and Loans or Research Assistance Desks. Login to OSIS? OSIS (Online Student Information System) is an Internet service that allows a student to view his/her personal information as stored on the University's Student Records System. For further information about OSIS refer to The Online Student Information System. Redirect my student email? Please note that many official notices, including Library notices, are sent to your student email address so it is important to check your messages. If you re-direct your email (see below) please ensure you type the new address correctly and remember if you change your email address to also change the re-direction details, otherwise you could miss important emails. To redirect your email to another address? e.g. home or work email login to OSIS and select Network Options Access the Library catalogue from home? Using the Internet, you can connect directly to the UC catalogue or via the Library's Home Page. The Catalogue "help" includes details of how to search as well as how to reserve and renew books. Find lecture notes on the Web? Lecture notes are available for some subjects on WebCT; some lectures are available as video recordings through the University's Digital Lecture Recording Service. Set up credit for printing or photocopying in the Library? Library patrons can print and photocopy by using the Multi-Function Devices (MFDs) available in various locations throughout the Library. Students must have a student card to print and photocopy, however, walk-in users may purchase a photocopy card. UC staff may borrow a card at the Information & Loans Desk. Credit for copying and printing is added to cards using an Autoloader, located on level B of the Library and in the Computer Centre (Building 10).
