University of Canberra Library services connect the University community with information for knowledge-enabled performance. UC Library provides access to essential electronic and print resources to support the learning, teaching and research needs of staff and students, and subscribes to a large number of fulltext databases and E-journals. Many required readings are available online through E-reserve. Items not available in our collection can be requested through interlibrary loan and document delivery services. Staff at the Information and Loans Desk can provide information about borrowing from the Library, locating items in the collection and accessing other libraries. They can also answer your quick reference questions. Staff at the Research Assistance Desk can advise you about research techniques and resources; you can make an appointment for a consultation if you wish. A wide variety of user documentation and Library information guides are available in print and/or online. The Library also provides areas for individual and group study, photocopying facilities and networked computers and printers. You can use the PCs for library research, for computer applications and for access to OSIS (Online Student Information System) and your email. If you require help with IT issues or information searching, Library Rovers are available to provide assistance at your PC between 10:00 and 6:00 Monday to Friday and between 1:00 and 3:00 at weekends. Just signal them (Rovers are easily identifiable by their bright blue polo shirts) or you can contact them on 0409 078 402 or 0438 224 949. Off-campus students can access many Library services remotely, including E-Reserve, databases and E-journals. Details of services provided are available from the Off Campus Library Services guide. To learn more about using the Library and our services, you can attend a familiarisation tour held at the beginning of each semester. We also run training sessions on the use of the online resources, such as databases and E-journals, and using the Web effectively for research. Check the full list of Research Skills Training sessions. If you require any further information you can email the Information and Loans Desk or phone (02) 6201 2953.
