UC Foundation honours donors for their contributions

The Vice-Chancellor hosted his annual reception to thank donors and supporters of the UC Foundation on Monday 30th April 2012.

Donors who contributed to the 2011 Annual Giving Appeal and to the UC Foundation were invited, so the University could thank them for their commitment and support.

New Student Accommodation Opened – Weeden Lodge

New student accommodation has been opened in the centre of Belconnen providing accommodation for 220 students. It was named Weeden Lodge in honour of the University’s most significant benefactors, the late William John (“Jock”) and Margaret Weeden.

Weeden Lodge was officially opened on February 28 by ACT Chief Minister Katy Gallagher. Members of the Weeden family were present for the opening and were able to tour the facilities.

Vale to three Professorial Greats

The University of Canberra Foundation has established three scholarships in honour of these former staff; with Richard Norris personally endowing funds to establish a PhD scholarship in Freshwater Ecology – a lasting legacy indeed.
