In this unit, students will be required to prepare for and identify potential sources of capital investment to assist in the funding of business ventures. Students will be required to conduct thorough analysis of various fundraising strategies available to them, analysing the most suitable according to their investment. In preparation for investment sourcing, students must develop justified financial projections, detailed growth plans, taking into account global trends where relevant as well as other matters they identify as important according to the investment type they decide to pursue. In addition, students must have further developed marketing campaigns that have been tested throughout, towards settling on cohesive marketing plans.
1. Prepare financial model and projections;
2. Identify required capital investment, and analyse various financial options and funding sources;
3. Prepare and evaluate fundraising strategies;
4. Evaluate performance of pitch/campaign attempts; and
5. Analyse feedback from investors and in order to make adjustments to business models.
