Submission of assessment items
Special assessment requirements
Late Submission Penalty Policy for the Faculty of Health
All assessments should be submitted by the specified due data and time in the Unit Outline. Any submissions recieved after the due date and time without an approved formal extension will undergo a mark adjustment.
In extenuating circumstances, a late submission may be considered without a mark adjustment on production of supporting documentation and at the discretion of the Unit Convenor (i.e. the Unit Convenor agrees to an extension to the deadline fo submission).
The following conditions will apply to late submissions without an approved extension:
- Students will receive a reduction of 5 percent per day from the total mark available for that assessment item, for each day the assignment is late (up to seven days, after which the student will receive zero marks for the assignment).
- For the purposes of these penalties, all days of the week count, including weekends and public holidays, even when the University may be closed.
- For clarification, one (1) minute past the specified due date and time is considered a late submission
- It is students' responsibility to be familiar with the electronic submission process (e.g., the use of Canvas and URKUND). Students are reminded to ensure they plan well enabling adequate time to submit assessments prior to the deadline, in order to avoid a mark adjustment.
Academic integrity

Good scholarship involves building on the work of others and use of others' work must be acknowledged with proper attribution made. To enhance understanding of academic integrity, all students are expected to complete the Academic Integrity Module (AIM) at least once during their course of study. Use of Text-Matching Software
The University of Canberra uses text-matching software to help students and staff reduce plagiarism and improve understanding of academic integrity. The software matches submitted text in student assignments against material from various sources: the internet, published books and journals, and previously submitted student texts.
Participation requirements
It is the responsibility of the student to interact with the material provided on the canvas site in relation to the self-directed theoretical elements. Prior to the face-to-face practical session, the expectation is that the material covered in the preceding weeks will have been covered.
Attendance at the face to face practical classes is required to complete the relevant assessment items. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that their attendance at Practical classes is recorded correctly and that they complete assessment items allocated to classes. Students are required to attend and complete assessment items based on the Practical for which they have been allocated.
If student are unable to attend an allocated practical, correspondence with the unit convcenor must occur beforehand.
One practical will be off-site at the ACT Academy of Sport. Details of location / time and behviourla requirements will be placed on the canvas site.
Required IT skills
The use of Canvas, library searching skills, word processing, manipulation of data and creation of graphs using Excel and electronic presentations skills are necessary for this unit.
