This unit explores contemporary contexts for the development, display and commercialization of art. And it investigates the communities that surround these activities. The unit involves the analysis of creative/community projects, their contexts, funding and frameworks for employment/engagement.
Students will be able to identify appropriate project types to suit their personal interests and their skills base. They will learn to evaluate existing professional benchmarks to assist in the development of project proposals.
A sound understanding of this unit will allow the student to develop commercial opportunities, professional contexts and communities for their practice in the Visual Arts sector.

Devise and compose a project proposal that adheres to industry standards working with group dynamics
Apply appropriate documentation for approaching funding bodies using clear and coherent language

Participation requirements
Students are expected to attend and actively participate in all lectures, and workshops. If a student misses lectures or workshops, regardless of reason, it may negatively impact upon their final assessment, due to them having missed important educational information and material. Announcements that are made at lectures, and via class email, are deemed to be made to the whole group.
Students who attend campus for class or other purposes must play their part in keeping our campus and community safe by following these basic guidelines to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission:
- Practise good hand hygiene, washing hands regularly;
- If you do happen to cough or sneeze, please do so into the crook of your elbow, dispose of tissues immediately and wash hands immediately
