Students will be able to identify appropriate project types to suit their personal interests and their skills base. They will learn to evaluate existing professional benchmarks to assist in the development of project proposals.
A sound understanding of this unit will allow the student to develop commercial opportunities, professional contexts and communities for their practice in the Visual Arts sector.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:1. Analyse creative community projects, their contexts, funding and frameworks for employment, engagement opportunities;
2. Evaluate existing professional benchmarks to assist in the development of a project proposal and presentation;
3. Devise and compose a project proposal that adheres to industry standards working with group dynamics;
4. Apply appropriate documentation for approaching funding bodies using clear and coherent language; and
5. Employ communication skills in an academic and/or creative context.

Participation requirements
Students are expected to attend and actively participate in all lectures, and tutorials. If a student misses lectures or workshops, regardless of reason, it may negatively impact upon their final assessment, due to them having missed important educational information and material. Announcements that are made at lectures, and via class email, are deemed to be made to the whole group.

Students require a general computing skills in applications such as word, powerpoint and basic internet search capability.
