The student will prepare and submit for examination, a thesis which is consistent with the requirements of a research masters thesis as specified by the policies of the University of Canberra.
1. Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge, including recent developments, in one or more of the following fields: communication; journalism; creative writing; cultural heritage and conservation; industrial design; graphic design; architecture; landscape architecture, international studies;
2. Demonstrate advanced knowledge of research principles and skills appropriate to one or more fields and creatively apply this knowledge to plan, develop and execute a research project which produces new knowledge, resulting in a thesis or a creative output with accompanying exegesis; and
3. Demonstrate an ability to communicate with the community of researchers within UC and with the professions to create opportunities for research cooperation.

Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:1.
