Students must apply academic integrity in their learning and research activities at UC. This includes submitting authentic and original work for assessments and properly acknowledging any sources used.
Academic integrity involves the ethical, honest and responsible use, creation and sharing of information. It is critical to the quality of higher education. Our academic integrity values are honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility and courage.
UC students have to complete the Academic Integrity Module annually to learn about academic integrity and to understand the consequences of academic integrity breaches (or academic misconduct).
UC uses various strategies and systems, including detection software, to identify potential breaches of academic integrity. Suspected breaches may be investigated, and action can be taken when misconduct is found to have occurred.
Information is provided in the Academic Integrity Policy, Academic Integrity Procedure, and University of Canberra (Student Conduct) Rules 2023. For further advice, visit Study Skills.
Participation requirements
Participation in the intensive is critical to developing a practical facility in the skills being taught, as well as an understanding of how to work effectively and safely on site. These skills and understandings will be assessed through the assignments.
Students are expected to finalise the preparation of their portfolio work in their own time.
Required IT skills
Students are expected to be familiar with standard word processing and digital photography software, and to be able to scan hardcopy images for import into a digital document. Students are also expected to be familiar with and to use email and UCLearn (Canvas).
In-unit costs
Bus transport will be provided for the site visits on Days 3 and 4 of the intensive. This will be at a cost of no more than $100, and may be less depending on enrolments.
Details of the exact cost and the payment arrangements will be placed on the UCLearn (Canvas) teaching site by the end of February.
Work placement, internships or practicums
This unit involves visits to heritage sites on Days 3 and 4 of the intensive.
