Major Live Action Project - Pre-Production (9260.2)

In this unit students will study the development of original ideas and scripts for production, as well as the development of a production management plan. Skills will be developed in managing production tasks including scheduling, budgeting and casting procedures.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

1. Develop a short script up to and including the pre-production phase of development, culminating in a product ready for production;
2. Display principal pre-production skills such as scheduling, budgeting, casting and other necessary preparation for short film production;
3. Collaborate with fellow filmmakers on the creation of a short film script; and
4. Create thorough pre-production guidelines and material that can be understood and implemented by a (potentially) different group of filmmakers in production.
