Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:1. Apply knowledge of cardiorespiratory physiology and pathophysiology to assess and manage medically stable patients in acute and surgical contexts;
2. Conduct culturally responsive assessments of the cardiorespiratory system and interpret findings to support safe and effective physiotherapy interventions;
3. Apply clinical reasoning and relevant evidence to explain physiotherapy decisions in cardiorespiratory care;
4. Communicate assessment outcomes and management plans clearly and respectfully with patients and interprofessional team members; and
5. Develop knowledge, skills and attitudes that support respectful and effective engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in healthcare.
