This unit will be run over the Winter Term and will adopt a blended learning approach comprising 1 week intensive laboratory and face-to-face learning coupled with 6 weeks of web-based delivery of resource material, readings, interactive forums and problem solving, and assignments. Topics to be covered include:- Population genetic theory;- Phylogenetics and phylogeography;- Evolutionary theory;- Applications to conservation / pest species management;- Population genetic analysis; and- Basic laboratory skills.
