CorequisitesAdmission to courses: Graduate Certificate in Human Nutrition; Master of Nutrition; Master of Nutrition and Dietetics; Master of Pharmacy; Graduate Diploma in Nutritional Science.

There are no essential text books for Nutritional Science. The following text is recommended if you would like to supplement your learning:
- Whitney et al (eds.), Understanding Nutrition, Australian & New Zealand Edition, 4th Edition, Cengage Learning Australia, Melbourne 2019
This text is available on short-term loan from the library. There is no need to purchase this text.
Submission of assessment items
Extensions & Late submissions
To pass this unit, students must;
1. Complete and submit the Data Collection Assignment and Calcium Report
2. Attain at least 50% overall (final grade).
Please Note: Online quizzes are not compulsory however, students need to ensure that they have accumulated sufficient marks in total to pass the unit.
Use of text matching software
Assessments will be moderated, as per the Faculty of Health Moderation Guidelines. A copy is available via Canvas.
Repeat students are required to comply with the unit requirements to pass the unit. Marks from a previous attempt at Nutritional Science cannot be carried over to a subsequent attempt.
All lectures will be provided as recordings only for this unit - there will be no face-to-face lectures delivered this semester.
Students are strongly encouraged to attend all tutorials. Students are responsible for completing learning tasks independently if tutorials are missed.
Students are expected to check the Canvas site regularly for updates and announcements. Students should also regularly check their student email.
Required IT skills
Students will be required to use FoodWorks. FoodWorks can be accessed from all computers at the UC with student access. A free 10-day trial of FoodWorks or a 3 months subscription can also be downloaded from: https://xyris.com.au/products/for-students/. Note, FoodWorks can only be operated on Macs if run in PC mode.
