This unit is concerned with the study of communication theory and performance of digital communication systems and wireless networks, and the use of real-time digital signal processing in those systems including audio and video processing. Major topics include the performance of AM and FM systems in the presence of noise, PCM, baseband data transmission, digital modulation schemes (e.g. ASK, PSK, OFDM) and spread spectrum systems.
