This unit contains Module s in:- Communication for engineers, oral and written communication skills, and the planning and preparation of presentations; - Engineering and society, considering the historical context of engineering, its social impact, professional responsibilities and ethics, sustainability and intellectual property; - Engineering drawing, providing an introduction to the representation of engineering concepts in pictorial form including freehand sketching and the used of CAD software; and- Engineering economics, examining supply and demand, factors of production, break-even and shut-down criteria, time value of money and benefit-cost analyses.
Learning outcomes
