Candidates will undertake research resulting in an original contribution to knowledge and/or the application of knowledge within a particular area of specialisation within the field of law. The work will include a searching review of the literature, a systematic approach to the acquisition of knowledge and the preparation of a substantial and well-ordered thesis of 50-60,000 words demonstrating a sound understanding of the area of inquiry and its relationship to the broader academic environment within which the dissertation is located.
1. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the research process including critical evaluation of the literature and the methodology and methods chosen for the specific research topic. The student will demonstrate the capacity to present a well written piece of work that critically evaluates the results of the research.
