The unit is based on the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBoK), PRINCE2™ and Agile Methdology.
There is no prescribed textbook for this unit. However, the following book will be used to teach required content: Marchewka, J, 2016 ,Information Technology Project Management : Providing Measurable Organizational Value, 5th ed. Wiley.
This book has been ordered by the library for short-term loan and E-Text is available for purchase from the Campus Bookshop.

Submission of assessment items
Extensions & Late submissions
All work quoted from any source should be appropriately referenced using the "Harvard author-date" referencing style. This style is described in detail (including electronic sources) in the relevant Reference Guide which is available at: http://canberra.libguides.com/referencing
Any work that has not been appropriately referenced, or has not made a reasonable attempt to follow the "Harvard author-date" referencing style will be returned unmarked for resubmission. In such cases, the maximum mark that will be attainable will be 60% of the marks allocated to that assessment item.
Special assessment requirements
To PASS this unit, students have to obtain a mark of 50% or greater for all the assessments in total. See the Assessment Guide for details.
Higher grades will be awarded on the basis of the total mark being ≥ 65% for a credit, ≥ 75% for a distinction and ≥ 85% for a high distinction. Some scaling of marks and academic judgement may be applied to determine students' final grades - in this process no student will be disadvantaged.
In the case of any assignment that places you in jeopardy of a Fail in the whole unit, appropriate moderation procedures will be used.
If there is any doubt with regard to the requirements of any particular assignments or assessment procedure, the onus for clarifying the issue rests with the student who should contact the unit convener about the matter.
All work quoted from any source should be appropriately referenced using a recognized style, the "Harvard" referencing style as described in the link below (note that there are multiple version of the Harvard referencing style, and you should use the one described here) is preferred.
Students who are not familiar with referencing academic work should undertake the Academic Integrity Module.

Use of Text-Matching Software
The University of Canberra uses text-matching software to help students and staff reduce plagiarism and improve understanding of academic integrity. The software matches submitted text in student assignments against material from various sources: the internet, published books and journals, and previously submitted student texts.
The following is a guide that may help you plan your semester's effort levels:

Tutorials (2 hrs * 10 Weeks) = 20hrs
Preparation and Attempting Online Quizzes = 20hrs
Proposal Preparation & Submission =18hrs
Group Final Project Poster, Presentation, Documentation= 32hrs
Tutorial and lecture preparation and forum participation= 30h
Reflection Report and Peer review marks = 4hrs
Progress Report for Group Project = 2hrs
Total = 150 hrs
Students are strongly advised to listen and watch lectures' recordings if they miss any lecture attendance to meet learning outcomes. Lecture or Tutorial slides and notes should not be considered a substitute for attending the lectures and or tutorials. Tutorials will be delivered via virtual rooms for online students.
You are strongly advised to participate to all lectures, to fully participate in all tutorials and study published materials in the Canvas site. The lecture and other materials are published on the website. The tutorials are particularly important because there is recurring and ongoing group work throughout the unit.
Announcements made in lectures or published using the website are deemed to have been heard and read by all students in the unit.
Required IT skills
You are expected to be a competent computer user and familiar with word processing, presentation software and project packages (such as Microsoft Project) or similar in this unit. It expected that you will teach yourself how to use the packages by working through the exercises in the software's tutorials and/or studying examples supplied with the software. All assignments are expected to be submitted electronically in Canvas and in one of Microsoft Office, Office 365; unless specifically stated otherwise.
This unit may involve online meetings in real time using the Virtual Room in your UCLearn teaching site. The Virtual Room allows you to communicate in real time with your lecturer and other students. To participate verbally, rather than just typing, you will need a microphone. For best audio quality we recommend a microphone and speaker headset. For more information and to test your computer, go to the Virtual Room in your UCLearn site and 'Join Course Room'. This will trigger a tutorial to help familiarise you with the functionality of the virtual room.
Students are expected to use virtual rooms or any other online tools to record their poster presentation.
