Public Administration Dissertation D:PT (4516.6)

The professional doctorate provides the opportunity to bring together in a scholarly submission work done over a period to time. The candidate will be required to prepare a dissertation which records and makes a critical assessment of work that has been undertaken in practice and which is to be extended by analysis in this degree. This extensive work in an agreed specialised area will result in a dissertation which makes a significant contribution to the development of a profession in the field of public administration.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate the capacity to undertake a substantial piece of research in public administration;
2. Demonstrate the ability to utilise theory in addressing practical issues in public administration; and
3. Be equipped to undertake other research projects and to supervise and advise others engaged in such work.
