This unit provides classroom teachers and educational leaders with the opportunity to apply research paradigms and methodology to the design and execution of a small-scale research project. This project will be based on an area of professional interest and will be informed by the research design work undertaken in Unit 12272: Designing Research in Education PG. Through this unit, students will demonstrate understanding of sound data collection and analysis procedures and will have the opportunity to report on the outcomes of their independent research.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Apply understanding of research paradigms and methodology to the design of a small-scale research project;
2. Demonstrate understanding of sound data collection and analysis procedures; and
3. Present outcomes of independent research to an academically informed audience.
