Professional Reasoning in Occupational Therapy (12257.1)

This unit examines the development and application of professional reasoning within the occupational therapy process across diverse practice settings. Emphasis is placed on reflective practice as a tool to critically evaluate and enhance professional judgment. Students will also engage with concepts of cultural responsiveness, examining how values, beliefs, and contextual factors influence reasoning in practice with individuals and communities. Through case-based learning, reflective practice and simulation activities, students will strengthen their ability to reason effectively and ethically in varied occupational therapy practice scenarios.
